Absolutely, we’re a pub! Our bar area isn’t bookable, so guests are welcome to just pop in for a drink, plus some bar snacks if they like.

Our pub is open to walk-ins, and we will always do our best to accommodate spur of the moment dining. All credit card information will be processed securely.

We have a 15 minute grace period. Please call or email us if you are running later than 15 minutes after your booked time.

Accessibility

The General Tarleton is an old, eighteenth-century coaching inn with plenty of quirks, which means uneven surfaces, different floor heights and steps. We will make every effort to assist guests with limited mobility but, sadly, the premises is not wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, due to the layout of the building, we do not have an accessible toilet on site.

All our bedrooms are situated on the first floor with two, short sets of stairs for access. For this reason, we like to make parties aware that the accommodation might not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Please call or email the team if you need any further information regarding accessibility at info@generaltarletonferrensby.co.uk

Do you have gift vouchers?

We offer monetary value gift e-vouchers starting from just £25, which are delivered straight to your inbox. They can be used towards food and drink.

You can buy a gift voucher here.

If you have any questions regarding gift vouchers, please call or email us.

Do you do a Sunday roast?

We serve a Sunday roast menu every Sunday from 12pm – 6pm. This is the only menu served on a Sunday. Our last seating is at 6pm.

Do you have a private dining space?

We have a dedicated room for private dining and events at The General Tarleton. The Hayloft is a beautiful, spacious room which allows you exclusive use and complete privacy for your event. If you would like to host a larger event, we can also speak to you about exclusive use of the barn area too, just email the team at info@generaltarletonferrensby.co.uk

What dietary requirements can you cater for?

We offer vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free menus. We will always do our best to cater for most dietary requirements, but we ask that guests with very strict diets contact us via telephone or email in advance so we can discuss with our team.

Whilst we follow best practice at all times, we do like to highlight that all dishes are produced in an environment where allergens are also prepared and cooked. We cannot guarantee that the environment will be completely allergen-free.
